The Community Ministry committee has responsibility for supporting and encouraging congregation involvement in programs that move our faith into acting as God’s hands within the church, the community, the larger church and ecumenical programs. The committee provides education and advocacy on issues related to these programs. The committee also identifies, publicizes, and encourages support for members involved in various ministries on their own. The team submits recommendations for how to direct the congregation’s contributions to local benevolences. The committee leads a major project for the congregation to provide two home-cooked meals each month to Gardenview Tiny Homes village, a neighboring village to the church that houses temporarily unhoused persons who are 55+ or medically fragile. This project provides nourishment to village residents for body and soul and brings together members of the congregation for fun and fulfilling activities. The village residents are happy to know that our congregation cares about them.
